Warranty Policy

Oxbridge Lighting warrants that all of our products are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for the warranty period specified for each product. We understand that peace of mind is essential when making an investment in lighting fixtures and equipment. Therefore, we are pleased to provide you with this warranty, outlining the terms and conditions that govern the coverage of our products.

Oxbridge Lighting products are supplied with a 5-year warranty for any manufacturing defect that may occur with the products during this time. This 5-year warranty starts from the date of invoice and applies to Oxbridge branded products (“Product”). Extended warranties and associated costs are available upon request.

  1. Warranty Coverage

Oxbridge Lighting (“Company”) is committed to delivering high-quality lighting products to our valued customers. This Warranty Policy outlines the terms and conditions that govern the warranty coverage provided by Oxbridge Lighting for its lighting products.

1.1 Defect occurs in the first 12 months

The Company may repair the product on site free of charge, repair or deliver replacement product free of charge or issue a credit note for the net invoice value of the product with defects that can be verifiably shown to be due to a manufacturer fault. The course of action taken will be at the Company’s sole discretion.

Defect occurs in years 2 to 5

The Company will repair a returned Product or deliver a replacement Product or component of the Product, free of charge, or issue a credit note for the original value of the defective. Product that can be verifiably shown to be due to a manufacturer fault. The course of action taken will be at the Company’s sole discretion.

The warranty only applies to products used within the allowed specifications and only if the products have been installed and operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions that are supplied with the product, or available on request.

The warranty is subject to the following provisions:

  • Warranty only applies to the Company’s branded products and specifically excludes any traded products that the Company has purchased to support a purchaser’s project solution.
  • Warranty only applies to products exceeding the standard failure rate of 0.2% per 1,000 operating hours.
  • Products have not exceeded a maximum of 5000 hours usage per year and limits of temperature and voltage values as described in the installation instructions supplied with the product should not be exceeded.
  • Any claim must be notified to the Company in writing within seven working days from discovery of a defect and the purchaser make no further use of the goods.
  • Consumable items such as batteries, lamps and starters are excluded from these warranty terms.
  • Batteries are covered for a period of three years on a replacement only basis from the date of invoice. This excludes Lead Acid batteries.
  • The Company reserves the right to decide upon the eligibility of a warranty claim and this may require the products to be returned to the Company for analysis (with a copy of the original invoice enclosed).
  • In the event that no defect is found with the product the Company may choose to charge the purchaser for any costs associated with investigating the claim.
  • It is the responsibility of the purchaser to supply the part number of the product, its location and failure mode.
  • Where products are mounted at heights of more than 6 metres or where specialised

    access equipment is required it shall be the responsibility of the purchaser to supply or pay for such access equipment.

  • In the event of replacement Product being supplied, such replacement Product will be warranted for the unexpired portion of the original five-year warranty.

  • Service contracts are also available, details upon request. 

Consequential losses incurred resulting from any defect with the Product including but not limited to delivery costs, assembly costs, on-site installation costs, loss of profit, loss of business, damages, will not form part of the agreed claim.

  1. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:

2.1. Damage Caused by External Factors

Damage caused by accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper installation. Damage resulting from power surges, electrical faults, or natural disasters.

2.2. Normal Wear and Tear

Normal wear and tear, including but not limited to fading of finishes and discoloration of materials.

2.3. Modifications and Alterations

Modifications or alterations to the product without prior written consent from Oxbridge Lighting LTD.

  1. Warranty Claim Process

If you believe that your Oxbridge Lighting product is covered by this warranty due to a defect in materials or workmanship, please follow these steps:

3.1. Contact Customer Service

Contact our Customer Service team at sales@oxbridgelighting.com to initiate a warranty claim.

3.2. Provide Proof of Purchase

Provide proof of purchase, including the date and location of purchase.

3.3. Describe the Issue

Describe the issue and, if possible, provide photographic evidence.

3.4. Claim Processing

Our Customer Service team will guide you through the claim process, which may include returning the product for inspection.

  1. Remedies

If a product is found to be defective within the warranty period and meets the warranty conditions, Oxbridge Lighting will, at its discretion:

4.1. Repair

Repair the defective product free of charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts.

4.2. Replace

Replace the defective product with an equivalent or similar product, free of charge. The warranty period for the replacement product will be the remaining duration of the original product’s warranty.

  1. Limitation of Liability

Our liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product, as specified above. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.

  1. Geographic Scope

This warranty is valid only in the United Kingdom and applies to products purchased through authorized Oxbridge Lighting retailers or directly from our official website.
